Mr. Chauhan has an impeccable service record as an Indian Administrative Service (Bihar Cadre) officer of having forty (40) years of rich experience in handling Management, Governance and Development issues in State of Bihar and Government of India especially in Industries, Finance and Banking, Labour Resources and Skill Development, Agriculture and Cooperation,Elections, University Administration etc. both at the policy making levels and field implementation.
Mr. Chauhan was 1979 batch Indian Revenue Service officer prior to joining Indian Administrative Service.
Mr. Chauhan took voluntary retirement from the Apex Scale (equivalent to Secretary to Government of India) to join as State Election Commissioner, Bihar for five years , a constitutional post for all local bodies elections.
Mr. Chauhan has held constitutional post in the State of Bihar and has adjudicated many cases pertaining to Election matter. He has also adjudicated legal matters pertaining to Revenue , Pollution Control , Transport , Excise etc as Chairman Board of Revenue besides adjudicating various legal matters as Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate and as Sub Divisional Magistrate.
Mr. Chauhan was Vice Chancellor of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University and J.P University, Chapra
Mr. Chauhan after his term as State Election Commissioner ended, he joined our chamber from year 2020
